Chris Solinsky (Stevens Point 2003) holds the all-time best time for the 3200 meters by a prep Wisconsin athlete.
In high school he was one of the premier distance runners in the nation. He was a 8-time WIAA state champion (three WIAA D1 cross country titles, three WIAA 3200 meter titles and two WIAA 1600 meter titles. As a senior, he won the prestigious Foot Locker national cross country championship and the Arcadia Invite 3200 meter title.
At the University of Wisconsin, he was an 11-time All-American in track and three time All-American in cross country. He won three national titles in the 5000 meters (one indoor) and two indoor titles in the 3000 meters. He also helped the Badgers' cross country team win the national title in 2005 and the track team win the national indoor title in 2007.
