Madison, WI (2/26/08) -- Almost 7-years ago - Jack Rauwerdink, Oostburg High School, reached out via email to a group of track fans to see if anyone was interested in taking over his role of keeping the Wisconsin High School Boys Track and Field Honor Roll. wisconsintrackandfield.com jumped in and offered to take up the task. We spent a large amount of time researching old newspapers and the WIAA archives in Stevens Point to create our first all-time best lists and then all of you contributed by sending in a lot of history that we have archived on this site.

We also began publishing an annual publication that many of you have told us is a priceless keepsake for each track season here in Wisconsin.

After 7-years, we have run out of the time needed to put together a quality web site, keep the boys honor roll up-to-date, and also the all-time lists.

We have decided to pass the torch to wissports.net. The Wisconsin Sports Network (WSN) is an integrated publishing company with a focus on student athletes, their communities, families, friends, fans and coaches.

Effective immediately, please pass all boys honor roll and all-time list submissions to them.

Kenosha, WI, IL (10/27/07)  -- The Wisconsin USATF Indoor meet was held at Carthage College in Kenosha. The top performance of the meet was set by three time WIAA state high jump champ, Paul Annear, Richland Center senior, who set a personal best in the high jump with a leap of 6-11.

Wisconsin Rapids, WI (10/27/07)  -- The 95th WIAA State Cross Country Championships were held in Wisconsin Rapids once again in 2007. In boys competition Appleton North senior Elliot Krause ran the fastest boys time while winning the D1 individual title and New Glarus/Monticello senior Ashley Buetler won her third WIAA cross country individual title (D2 this year) with the fastest girls time.

Madison, WI (8/5/07) -- wisconsintrackandfield.com has announced its selections for the 2007 Wisconsin Prep Track and Field Athletes of the Year.

This season wisconsintrackandfield.com has chosen Belleville-New Glarus junior Ashley Beutler and Watertown junior Andrew Perkins as the Athletes of the Year. Both were chosen because of their 2007 results and the significant historical perspective of their top times (both moving past Wisconsin track legends with their top times this season).

In 2007 our AOY selections had times that moved past legendary Wisconsin athletes Mark Winzenried (Monroe 1967) and Cathy Branta (Slinger 1981).

Knoxville, TN (8/4/07) -- At the AAU Junior Olympics in Knoxville, TN, Kaya Senaya, placed 5th (12.05) and Jasmyn Hudgins (Bradley Tech sophomore) finished 7th (12.29) in the 100 meter dash. In the 200 meter dash Kaya finished 6th in 24.53.

For the boys, Marcus Jenkins of Milwaukee Bradley Tech (junior) won the national title in the long jump with a leap of 24-5. Keith Ingram (Milwaukee Riversite) placed 5th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.44.

Walnut, CA (7/29/07) -- Kaya Senaya (Brown Deer) finished sixth in the 100 meters while running the fastest time ever by a Wisconsin prep (11.78). This is the third time this post-season that Kaya has broken the all-time record in the 100.

For the boys, Keith Ingram (Milwaukee Riverside) finished third in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.68. Adam Hexum (Hayward) placed fourth in the 110 meter high hurdles running the year's fastest time (14.08) which is also the 2nd fastest ever.

(Lisle, IL 7/8/07)  -- The 2007 USA Youth Outdoor Track & Field Championships was held July 3-8 in Lisle, Illinois - on the campus of Benedictine University.

Several Wisconsin athletes competed - with three national titles being won.

Milwaukee Vincent sophomore Centrell Minter won the 100 meter dash in 10.73. Brown Deer senior Isiah Gray (who was injured at state and did not compete) won the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 53.53. The Silver Spring Spartans 4x100 meter relay also won a national title. The team was made up of Justin Austin (Brown Deer), Leneir Johnson (Milwaukee Bay View), Keith Ingram (Milwaukee Riverside) Jonathan Fobbs (Milwaukee Marshall).

Milwaukee, WI (6/30/07) -- The Wisconsin AAU National Qualifier meet was held at South Milwaukee High School.

For the boys, Hayward's Adam Hexum ran the fastest 110 meter high hurdle time of the season with his 14.26 win. In the 100 meter prelims, Keith Ingram (Milwaukee Riverside) ran the year's fastest time in 10.62 - but Brown Deer's Justin Austin won the finals. Also Bradley Tech's Marcus Jenkins long jumped 23-7. For the girls Kaya Senaya won three evens, the 100 (12.68), 200 (24.69) and the long jump (18-5¾).

Greensboro, NC (6/16/07) -- Several Wisconsin athletes compted in the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Greensboro, NC. Arrowhead took third placed in the 1600 meter Arrowhead's time was 3:27.61 - just 4 tenths outside of 1st and 5th best in the nation for the year. WIAA D1 cross country champ, and 3200 meter run champ Matt Mroczynski (Pulaski senior) ran 9:10.83 in the two-mile. Triple WIAA winner Paul Annear (Richland Center junior) also competed well in Greensboro. He placed sixth in the high jump with a jump of 6-9 and 19th in the triple jump with a jump of 45-4¼.

Team Titles: Boys team titles were won by Milwaukee Marshall in D1, Richland Center in D2 and Newman Catholic in D3. For the girls Hudson won D1, West Salem and Brown Deer (tie) in D2 and Shell Lake D3.

Boys Highlights.

Two state records were set on Friday in the 3200 meter relay. Monroe broke the D1 record and all-time best mark set last season by Whitefish Bay while winning the D1 title in 7:42.91. Sheboygan Lutheran broke the D3 record with their 7:57.64 win. Several teams in D2 moved into the top-50 led by winner Chilton with a time of 7:52.39 (8th best ever). Another state record was set in the D3 pole vault by Daniel Drewek (Athens senior) at 15-1.

Paul Annear (Richland Center junior) won three D2 titles. He won the high jump (for the third straight season) with a great leap of 6-10. This leap is just under his PR and season best of 6-10¼ set indoors. Annear also won the long jump and triple jump.

Watertown junior Andrew Perkins won both the D1 800 and 1600 meter runs in very high quality times of 1:52.33 and 4:11.87.

Girls Highlights.

Top marks for the girls include Ashley Beutler (Belleville-New Glarus junior) who won the D2 1600 meter run in the 4th fastest time ever - 4:48.37 and the 3200 in 10:46.52.

Racine Case senior Akaila Cabell who ran 11.98 in the D1 100 meter dash prelims (7th fastest ever) won the D1 100 and 400 finals on Saturday. Milwaukee Riverside junior Sharay Hale ran the 5th fastest 200 meter time ever in the D1 prelims in 24.59. Dodgeland junior Megan Rennhack ran the 6th fastest 300 low hurdle time ever in the D3 prelims at 44.44 and she also won the D3 100 meter high hurdles. Hudson senior Sharyn Dahl ran the 5th fastest 300 meter low hurdle time ever while defending her D1 title in a time of 44.11. Florence soph Aileen Lemanski set a D3 record in long jump in a top-50 mark of 18-2¼. East Troy junior Becca Buchholtz set a state record in the D2 high jump with a 5-9 leap (ties for 3rd highest jump ever) . as well as winning the D2 triple jump and taking second in the long jump. Brown Deer junior Kaya Senaya won repeat D2 titles in the 100 and 200 meters and she was a member of the champion 4x100 meter relay team. Sheboygan Lutheran senior Stacey Thiel won the D3 1600 and 3200 meter runs, and Shell Lake senior Hannah Gronning, won the D3 shot put and discus - setting a D3 record in the discus.
