Week 9.

Madison, WI (5/15/05) -- The miserable weather continued across the state during Week 9 of the season, but that didn't stop athletes from making top notch performances.

For the girls, two athletes led this week's action each achieving 7th best all-time performances.

Caitlin Dodge (Whitefish Bay Dominican senior - photo on right) ran the 400 meters in 56.37 (x7WI) while winning the Monona Grove Invite title. Caitlin also ran a list leading 25.40 in the 200 meters. Erin Havener junior from Ashwaubenon pole vaulted 11-3½ (x7WI) at the Brown County meet.

Other top girls included Michelle Corrigan (Pulaski senior) who improved on her list leading 1600 and 3200 meter times with a 5:00.95 and 10:49.37 (x14WI) wins at the Brown County meet, Kenosha Tremper junior Veronica Jerikova threw the shot 43-1, and Columbus senior Kaycie Merrihew Columbus ran 45.48 in the 300 meter hurdles.

sophomore Victor Reynolds who won the triple jump at the Jump Fest in Germantown with a leap of 48-2. This jump is the 6th longest all-time by a Wisconsin prep.

Other top boys included, Steve Marcelle (Green Bay Preble senior) who threw 65-5½ (5th best outdoor toss ever) and 184-9 (x13WI) at the Brown County meet, fellow big man A.J. Curtis (Brodead-Juda) set a personal-record in the shot put with a toss of 61-3¾ and won the discus with the same disance as Marcelle (184-9) at the Monona Grove Invite, Marion's Josh Derens took over the pole vault leadership at 15-3 (x6WI), La Crosse Logan senior Andy Johnson took over the long jump lead with a 23-1 jump, Anthony Strong triple jumped 47-7¾, Green Bay Preble junior Steve Van Rite took the lead in the high hurdles at 14.67, and Jordan Schrubbe (Waukesha West senior - photo above) lowered his list leading time in the 300 hurdles to 38.74.
