2007 USA Youth Outdoor Track & Field Championships

Lisle, IL (7/8/07) -- The 2007 USA Youth Outdoor Track & Field Championships completed today in Lisle, Illinois - on the campus of Benedictine University.

Several Wisconsin athletes competed - with three national titles being won.

On Sunday, Milwaukee Vincent sophomore Centrell Minter won the 100 meter dash in 10.73. Brown Deer senior Isiah Gray (who was injured at state and did not compete) won the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 53.53. Brown Deer junior Kaya Senaya took third place in the Young Women's 100 meter dash. Her time of 11.80 is the fastest ever run by a Wisconsin prep athlete.

Also on Sunday, two Wisconsin athletes placed well in the 400 meter finals. Germantown's Jared Foerch took 5th place with a time of 47.94 and Brookfield East's Cory Yttre followed in 6th close behind in 47.96. In the 110 meter high hurdles, Hayward's Adam Hexum finished third with a time of 14.26.

On Saturday, the Silver Spring Spartans 4x100 meter relay won the national title. The team was made up of Justin Austin (Brown Deer), Leneir Johnson (Milwaukee Bay View), Keith Ingram (Milwaukee Riverside) Jonathan Fobbs (Milwaukee Marshall).

Also on Saturday, Kaya Senaya took second place in the Young Women's 200 meters with the season's fastest time - 24.12. This is the second fastest ever and a PR for Kaya. In the Young Men's 200 meters Germantown's Jared Foerch took 4th in 21.96.

On Thursday West Allis Central junior Marcus Smith placed 3rd in the triple jump with a leap of 47-2¼.
