Top Action from Week 7
Madison, WI (4/29/07) -- The outdoor season got into full swing this past meet with a multitude of meets. See the latest results here.
Two boys added their names to the all-time top-50 lists this week. Brookfield East senior Cory Yttre ran 21.74 in the 200 meters at the Aurora Health Care at Waukesha North and Messmer junior Lamel Adkins long jumped 24-0 at the Franklin Saber Invite in Muskego. Adkins is only the 5th Wisconsin prep to jump longer than 24 feet. Other top boys performances this week include Pulaski senior Matt Mroczynski who ran 9:16.26 in the 3200 meters, Watertown junior Andrew Perkins finished 5th in the Penn Relays high school mile on Friday with a time of time of 4:13.28, Menomonee Falls senior Luke Bibis tops the 110 meter high hurdles list at 14.67, and Slinger senior Ed Wesela became the first boy past 60 feet this season in the shot at 60-11. For the girls, there were also a slew of additions to the top-50 lists. At the MVC vs BRC Challenge in Holmen two sprinters added their names to the 100 meter all-time list. Eau Claire Memorial junior Chim Okorojiwon won the race in 12.09 and La Crosse Logan freshman Stephanie Henry ran 12.14 in second. In the discus, Shell Lake senior Hannah Gronning has the 6th best throw ever after her 159-9 toss in Unity. In the shot put two girls made it past 44 feet this week and onto the top-50 list as well. Seymour freshman Jessica Maroszek threw 44-2 at the Pulaski Invitational and Wausau West senior Peggy Seidler 44-1 at the Medford Invitational. See the current boys and girls honor rolls. |
