WIAA Cross Country.
Boys Madison La Follette won the D1 boys championship with 127 points narrowly defeating Stevens Point (135) and Muskego (140). Pulaski's Matt Mroczynksi won the individual title in 15:45.2. Defending individual champion, Andrew Perkins (Watertown junior) finished third. In boys D2 competition, Shorewood won their fourth straight team title. Greendale senior Phil Thomas (16:01.3) won the individual title. Junior Zachary Wilhelmy of La Crosse Aquinas won the D3 title in 16:08.4. Sheboygan Area Lutheran won their thrid straight team title.
Girls South Milwaukee senior Lauren Kleppin won the girls D1 title in 14:36.0. Middleton won the D1 team title defeating three-time defending champion Waukesha West. In Division 2, New Glarus / Monticello's Ashley Beutler, won individual title in the fastest time by any girl in any division (14:13.2). Beutler won the D3 title in 2004. Dodgeville / Mineral Point repated its team title from 2005. Junior Ali Paul of Cedar Grove-Belgium won the Division 3 championship (after placing 13th as a soph) in 14:56.
